Sumitomo Introduces Advanced AC8025P Turning Grade for Enhanced Performance

Wednesday 17 July 2024, 9:38:04 PM

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. has launched the AC8025P turning grade, a cutting-edge solution for steel turning that offers improved productivity, extended tool life, and reduced machining costs. Featuring the Absotech Platinum CVD coating and a robust carbide substrate, the AC8025P excels in chipping and adhesion resistance. This grade delivers more than twice the chipping resistance compared to conventional coatings and is suitable for various applications, including continuous, light interrupted, and interrupted cutting.

Key Features:

  • Absotech Platinum CVD Coating: Enhances coating adhesion strength and controls residual stress.
  • Tough Carbide Substrate: Provides exceptional cutting edge chipping resistance and adhesion resistance.
  • Smooth Surface Treatment: Improves adhesion resistance along the cutting edge, reducing chattering.
  • Versatile Applications: Ideal for machining low-carbon steel, rolled steel, and other adhesion-prone materials.

The AC8025P grade aims to ensure stability in tool life and superior edge sharpness, significantly improving performance and reducing costs in steel turning operations.
