Salop Design host CATAPULT event

Monday 18 September 2017, 12:00:00 AM

What does 4IR or Industry 4.0 mean to the West Midlands metal-basher? Digital manufacturing experts from Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) visit Salop Design & Engineering in Shrewsbury to debate how some of the digital technology can benefit businesses like this pressings and powder coating company. Keen to avoid the “metal-basker” moniker, Commercial Director at Salop Christopher Greenough explains to 20 guests how it is modernising and using more factory floor analysis. Salop is also part of a four-company group investing with the Marches LEP in a new training centre, the Marches Centre of Manufacturing and Technology, which will train apprentices in a mix of new digital and traditional engineering skills. WMG is part of the HVM Catapult which is running a series of tours and round tables debates about 4IR around the UK.
