It wasn’t long ago we visited Newnham Engineering to see their investment in 5-axis machining with DMG MORI — part of a major push to expand capabilities and stay ahead in a competitive subcontract environment.
Now, they’re levelling up again — this time with the arrival of a DMG MORI CLX 550 turning centre. 💥
📍 We first got hands-on with this machine at the DMG MORI Open House in Pfronten, Germany, where Paul Jones reviewed it and said:
“This is a fabulous machine — a true workhorse. Lots of power, great rigidity, and everything a subcontractor could ever need. Decent capacity too. Well done, Newnham!”
With its powerful spindle, live tooling, and advanced control system, the CLX 550 is set to make a serious impact on the shop floor — and we’re excited to see it in action soon.
