Okuma America Corp. has officially revealed plans to establish a global service and repair facility, set to open in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2025. This facility will expand the company’s corporate headquarters campus and is designed to enhance service capabilities for both regional and global customers.

The new Okuma facility will span 35,000 square feet and will house the technical services and support group dedicated to mechanical and electrical component exchanges, repairs, and upgrades. This includes the capacity to produce replacement components for Okuma’s legacy technologies. The facility will feature specialized areas for inspecting and assembling mechanical units, including spindles, and will also accommodate computer board disassembly, repair, and CNC control simulation. Additionally, a well-stocked warehouse will hold thousands of inventoried parts to support Okuma’s extensive product range and zero-obsolescence policy.

Mike Hampton, Okuma’s senior manager of field service, emphasized that the new facility will significantly reduce repair times and enable customers to maximize the utilization of their machine tools. He noted that the combination of this facility with Okuma’s local service and support from distribution partners will enhance the overall service experience for customers operating Okuma machines.
