Kolkata successfully hosted the first-ever Engineering Technology Expo (ETE), a landmark event designed to accelerate industrial growth and technological advancement in Eastern India. Organized by Future Market Events, the expo ran alongside the India Fastener Show and created a comprehensive platform for manufacturers, technology providers, and industry professionals. This inaugural edition marked a strategic step toward strengthening the region’s engineering ecosystem and providing businesses with access to cutting-edge innovations.

The Engineering Technology Expo brought together more than 100 exhibitors and attracted around 7,500 visitors from across India as well as neighboring countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh. The event showcased advancements across high-impact sectors including sheet-metal fabrication, metal forming, metal cutting, precision engineering, robotics, automation, laser technologies, and industrial fasteners. For many companies, ETE 2025 offered a unique opportunity to present solutions tailored for Eastern India—a region witnessing rapid industrialisation and investment momentum.

According to Anuj Mathur, Managing Director of Future Market Events, ETE 2025 was an important opportunity for the region’s manufacturing base. He emphasized that the expo aimed to facilitate meaningful business engagement while strengthening the connection between technology suppliers and industries in Eastern India. The event’s debut edition served not only as a technology showcase but also as a catalyst for business development and collaboration.

The expo received strong backing from notable industry bodies. The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) served as the Strategic Partner, alongside support from the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Odisha Industries Association, and the Bangladesh Automobiles Assemblers and Manufacturers Association. This collaboration reflected the regional commitment to developing a robust engineering and manufacturing ecosystem.

ETE 2025 featured several leading exhibitors, including Gold Sponsor Jyoti CNC Automation, Sanwood India, Sagar Machine Tools, Shree Rapid Technologies, Indo Air Compressors, Suresh Indu Laser, Hindustan Hydraulics, Rajesh Machines India LLP, and Tata Power. Attendees explored a wide spectrum of innovations—from next-generation CNC machines and laser technologies to intelligent automation systems and robotics solutions. With a strong focus on precision tooling and advanced production technologies, the exhibition offered manufacturers insights into global trends shaping the future of engineering.

Beyond product displays, the expo hosted interactive business sessions, open-house interactions, and industry-led discussions. A special highlight included a focused session organized by Laserman India Magazine in collaboration with Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd. Additional business meetings, facilitated by FOSMI and the Bharat Chamber of Commerce, addressed emerging market dynamics, supply chain shifts, and evolving business priorities within the engineering sector.

Industry response to the Engineering Technology Expo was overwhelmingly positive. Jyoti CNC Automation noted that the event came at the right time to showcase its newest CNC advancements to the rapidly expanding industrial market in Eastern India. Castrol India acknowledged the expo as a valuable platform for connecting with decision-makers across diverse engineering domains, making it ideal for targeted and high-impact business engagement. Hindustan Hydraulics praised the expo’s structure, stating that it created a productive environment conducive to collaboration and long-term industry partnerships.

With its focus on innovation, strategic alliances, and knowledge sharing, the Engineering Technology Expo emerged as a major technology convergence platform for India and the broader Asian region. As Eastern India continued to grow as an important manufacturing hub, the event played a crucial role in supporting the region’s next wave of industrial development.

ETE 2025 was held from 20–22 November 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata, offering professionals across engineering and manufacturing the chance to engage with industry leaders, discover new technologies, and form connections that would influence the region’s industrial landscape.
