By Ashutosh Arora
Danfoss India has taken another bold step in its mission to drive sustainable technologies and energy efficiency by launching its advanced iC7-Hybrid Series at the 24th edition of the Energy Efficiency Summit. Organized by the CII–Godrej Green Business Centre under the aegis of the CII Energy Efficiency Council, the summit was held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) from September 16–18, 2025, and brought together policymakers, industry leaders, technologists, and innovators to deliberate on India’s clean energy future.
With more than 3,000 participants representing diverse sectors, the three-day summit underscored the urgency of transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Sessions covered critical themes such as clean energy deployment, financing mechanisms for sustainability projects, and the integration of global best practices into India’s unique energy landscape. Against this backdrop, Danfoss India’s unveiling of the iC7-Hybrid Series stood out as a highlight, signaling a leap forward in modular, cybersecure, and highly efficient power conversion technologies.
The iC7-Hybrid Series was inaugurated in the presence of senior leaders from CII and industry stakeholders, including Dr. Raju Goyal, Chief Technical and Sustainability Officer of Ultratech Cement Ltd, and Tejpreet S Chopra, Founder and CEO of Bharat Light & Power Group. The new product line includes the multipurpose iC7-Hybrid Module and the 1500 VDC Liquid-Cooled Grid Converter, both designed to perform multiple roles—as an active front end (AFE), inverter, grid converter, or DC-DC converter. This versatility makes the series suitable for applications across hydrogen production, smart grids, energy storage systems, shore power solutions, and electric vehicle fast charging infrastructure.
Speaking at the launch, Ravichandran Purushothaman, Chairman of the CII National Energy Efficiency Council and President of Danfoss India, emphasized the importance of such innovations in achieving India’s Net Zero ambitions. He noted that the Energy Efficiency Summit continues to play a critical role in advancing the country’s decarbonization agenda by providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration. “This summit is not only about showcasing technologies but also about shaping collaborative pathways that align industry, government, and technology providers toward common sustainability goals,” he said.
From a technology standpoint, the iC7-Hybrid Series promises to be a game-changer. With Euro efficiency rated at 99.2%, scalability up to 9 MVA, and advanced grid control capabilities, the series addresses the pressing demand for flexible yet reliable power conversion. The system also integrates digital twin tools, enabling predictive modeling, performance optimization, and reduced commissioning times. According to Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing & Services for the Danfoss India Region, “The iC7-Hybrid series delivers modular, cybersecure, and high-efficiency power conversion. Its integration of digital twin tools and robust design empowers industries to scale confidently, meeting the growing demands of decarbonization.”
For Danfoss India, this launch reinforces a decade-long commitment to the Energy Efficiency Summit and its broader vision of advancing India’s sustainable energy transition. As a subsidiary of the global Danfoss Group, the company serves a wide range of industries including HVAC, refrigeration, district cooling, hydraulics, industrial machinery, and renewable energy systems. Its focus has consistently been on enabling industries and communities to “do more with less,” developing solutions that are as relevant to local needs as they are to global markets.
The unveiling of the iC7-Hybrid Series not only expands Danfoss India’s portfolio but also signals the company’s intent to be at the forefront of India’s journey toward a cleaner, more resilient energy ecosystem. With advanced technology, industry collaboration, and a clear commitment to sustainability, Danfoss India continues to position itself as a key player in shaping the future of energy efficiency.
