Ashok Leyland Teams Up with FAMCO Qatar to Deepen Its Reach in the Qatari Market!

Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, expanded its presence in Qatar by forming a strategic partnership with FAMCO Qatar, a division of the Al-Futtaim Group. This collaboration followed the company’s successful 2024 expansion into Saudi Arabia through FAMCO, reinforcing the growing synergy between Ashok Leyland and Al-Futtaim across the Middle East. The partnership was officially announced at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, aligning with Qatar’s ongoing focus on strengthening transportation and infrastructure development.
Through this alliance, Ashok Leyland introduced its extensive portfolio of commercial vehicles to suit Qatar’s operational requirements. The range included the widely trusted Falcon and Oyster buses, both recognised for their durability, advanced safety features, and superior passenger comfort. The company also showcased its Boss and Partner series of light and medium-duty trucks, designed to deliver high performance, strong fuel efficiency, and reduced lifecycle costs. Together, these vehicles addressed the needs of fleet operators, logistics companies, SMEs, and public transport authorities.
A significant highlight of the launch was the introduction of Ashok Leyland’s electric bus lineup, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. The addition of electric models demonstrated Ashok Leyland’s readiness to support Qatar’s long-term vision for greener and more energy-efficient transport systems.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rajesh R, Head of International Operations at Ashok Leyland, emphasised that the partnership marked an important milestone for the company’s expansion in the Middle East. He noted that Ashok Leyland’s long-standing experience, combined with FAMCO Qatar’s strong market presence, would deliver dependable performance, robust aftersales support, and future-ready innovations to businesses across Qatar.
