
TVS and BMW Motorrad Partnership Reaches 200,000-Unit Production Milestone!

TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have marked a major achievement in their long-standing collaboration by surpassing the production of 200,000 units since the partnership began in 2013. This milestone coincides with the rollout of the new BMW F 450 GS from TVS’s Hosur plant, underscoring the partnership’s expanding contribution to BMW’s global product portfolio.
Over the years, the alliance has produced successful models such as the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, and G 310 RR—motorcycles that have played a pivotal role in BMW Motorrad’s growth in markets across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The newly introduced F 450 GS, equipped with a 420 cc parallel-twin engine, is set to become the new entry-level model in the iconic BMW GS lineup, following the discontinuation of the G 310 GS. While the motorcycle has been showcased internationally, launch timelines and pricing for India have yet to be confirmed.
Reflecting on the milestone, KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, highlighted that more than a decade of collaboration has been defined by shared engineering excellence and a commitment to innovation. He noted that the co-developed motorcycles have now reached riders in over 100 global markets, establishing new benchmarks for quality and performance. Radhakrishnan added that the introduction of the F 450 GS further demonstrates TVS’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and its ability to deliver high-end motorcycles to global standards.
BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch echoed this sentiment, stating that the 200,000-unit milestone reflects the strength and success of the partnership. Flasch emphasized that the sub-500cc motorcycles developed through this alliance have become central to BMW Motorrad’s global expansion, consistently earning strong demand worldwide. He described the debut of the F 450 GS as the start of an exciting new phase in the companies’ joint journey.
Looking ahead, TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad plan to deepen their partnership through investments in new platforms and technologies. Their collaborative research and development efforts will focus on addressing evolving customer needs in both urban and premium mobility segments, while continuing to uphold their shared values of performance, quality, and innovation.
