At Quantum we are witnessing the benefits of Star GB’s HFT software

One part in-particular produced in 316 stainless steel, the HFT software contributed to a significant reduction in cycle time of 1 minute 10 seconds!  This was achieved because it allowed us to re-programme the part, removing operations such as loops and dwells used previously to try and remove/break up stringy swarf from around the part. In addition to the cycle time saving, we also benefitted from less operator input resulting from alarms where swarf build up was previously a major issue, especially at the parting off stage.
