MTDCNCLast viewed Empire have recently bought a new Star SW20. They knew it would be good but they were set a challenge of producing a component within 5 microns. Not + / – 5 microns but a total of 5 microns. Stuart wanted to make sure the machine was meeting it's expectations. So he decided to check the production runs; Every minute – all ok Every 2 minutes – all ok Every 5 minutes – all ok Every 30 minutes – still going strong And not only was the tolerance with 5 microns, it was actually within 2 microns. A great endorsement for the quality work that Empire and Star can do. (we can't show the component due to ITAR regs – sorry!)
