HURCO EXPANDS ENGINEERING TEAM

The technical team supporting users of Hurco machining centres and lathes throughout the UK and Ireland has been expanded by the arrival of four additional service engineers. Aaron Hewett, Liam Storer, Ben Pringle and Vinicius Gomes are currently undergoing training at Hurco’s High Wycombe facility before shadowing technical support engineers in the field. All of the new recruits have strong experience with other machine tool brands, so will be quickly up to speed with the Hurco range.

There is now a total of 20 Hurco service engineers spread geographically serving the British and Irish markets, plus two more covering the diagnostic desk. In addition, two further staff have been recruited to strengthen the customer support and logistic departments.

Hurco’s Technical Support Manager Andy Bennett commented, “Alongside the growth of the business over the past 10 years, we are seeing a greater demand for more complex and sophisticated production machinery. There is a significant increase in requests for 5-axis machines and automated solutions.

“At Hurco, every engineer needs to be responsible for the control, electronics and mechanical components of the machine tool. It is therefore essential that we are continuously training new engineers.

“As soon as we knew the lockdown restrictions would be relaxed, we made a major push to recruit additional engineers. We are particularly pleased to have the opportunity to work with this group.”

The launch of additional CNC turning centres at MACH 2022 is likely to result in further growth of the Hurco business over the coming months, especially with the increased interest in the company’s ProCobot range of plug-and-play collaborative robots.
